We hopped (hobbled) a flight from Podgorica, Montenegro to Rome. We transferred to the train station (crazy busy) and then got on a train from Rome to Florence. A quick taxi ride brought us to our B&B, where our friend and traveling companion was waiting. She had arrived just a few hours earlier and we all went out and had a nice dinner. We spent several days in Florence exploring. It was somewhat limited by the fact that Nicke was recovering from a broken toe she got in Montenegro.
The photos below were taken by all 3 of us, Nicke, Ali and I (Thomas). I was hoping to be able to identify who took what photo, but you’ll just have to guess.

Our Take
The B&B we had was terrible. It was rated for 3 persons, but 3 people could not sit down together anywhere in the unit, except on the balcony that you had to climb out of a window to get to. The place was tired and felt dirty. We could not wait to leave. Nicke was just recovering from a broken toe she got in Montenegro, so that curtailed our ability to do much sightseeing with Ali. Ali was able to see the sights by herself. Nicke and I had seen all the major stuff 20 years ago when we visited and that stuff has not changed for thousands of years, so no loss there. The good news was that we were pretty near the center of the city, so short walks to restaurants and bars worked ok for us.
