Thursday, May 16, 2024:  I love this place the most, not only is it comfortable, practical but showed lots of red, (my favorite color). Nice comfy furniture, lots of books to read, and a gorgeous back patio with beautiful ceramic tile and plants! Very thought-out and relaxing with comfy furniture, tables, chairs with cushions and again plants everywhere. We went to a fancy restaurant for dinner.  I ate prawns and linguini, but the noodles were black and with lots of roasted garlic. Yum.  Fitzy had breaded grouper and potatoes.

Friday, May 17, 2024: I had a dentist appointment to check out what I thought was a bad filling, but it turned out to be just irritated gums. The dentist gave me a prescription for a special brush that would take care of it. Because  the dentist was across the street, we re-visited the secret garden restaurant, I had an American style hamburger and Fitz had a salad with tuna and feta, we were the only ones there.  I had tiramisu for desert.  That evening we went to an expensive restaurant, called Bossa. It has a huge wall of a scene from the movie “The cook, the thief, his wife and her lover” with Helen Mirren and Sully.  It was this movie I made Fitz watch with me, he thought he would hate it, but was ok with it in the end. How funny to see a big wall of that movie. I had a awesome steak and Fitz had truffle pasta.

Saturday May 18,2024: We stayed home for a relaxing day lounging around the garden and reading. We ate leftovers and planned our next day then headed to bed.

Sunday May 19, 2024: Took the train to Vila Real de Santa Antonio, Portugal on the easternly Algarve. We had been there a year earlier with Noah(son). This year they had a 3 day Pirate Festival where everyone was dressed in period dress, 17 Century. I had clams for lunch while Fitz had bacalao pasties. We walked all over town, by the water and also the square where most of the activity was. We stopped for a couple of cocktails. We put over 7,268 steps which was a lot for us. (usually 5000) We bought a couple cool soaps and also incense at the festival, as we remembered when we were vendors, you hoped people would buy your stuff. Then we headed back by train. When we got back Fitz made pesto pasta, but I made a salami croissant sandwich, both of us were satisfied.

Monday May 20, 2024: Walked into town, had a late lunch at the Black  Anchor. I had veggies with noodles and prawns, but it came with chicken instead, so they made me a new dish. I now have another complete meal, oh well! We did wash and hung to dry, no one uses dryers in Europe. I finished my last sudoku and need a new book. I watched several shows about Julius Caesar, which told his whole story, very interesting, while Fitz went to bed early.

Tuesday May 21, 2024: Today we walked to have coffee and breakfast. Both of us had omelets, mine ham and cheese, Fitz’s plain along with French fries and tomatoes. We did a grocery run to save some money.   Fitz is, like. reading his 10th book, while I just keep reading google news or other news, besides some games. .. He’s working on our website. while I’m bored  and watched a Jason Borne movie with Tangier chase scene. So cool to see Tangier again !

Wednesday May 22, 2024: Low key day, lounged around. Later had dinner at Jorge and Lia’s  “Secret Garden” at night. Our 3rd time there, but 1st time at night. It was wonderful like she said. Fitz had  the salmon and I had feta salad, toast and pork steak with green  beans and lima beans. The place started to fill up.

Thursday May 23, 2024: I cleaned up the place, did dishes, swept, made the bed while Fitz worked on the web site. I started adding the text from my journaling. We had a late lunch, I had clams, my favorite while Fitzy had salmon with mashed potatoes, beets, all very good. We later walked to Ofelia’s bar & had  fancy drinks and met some crazy Brits on vacation. They did karaoke while I danced to some music. Later I took some night shots of some of the cool houses and window dressing.
