Thursday May 9, 2024: The new rental in Tavira is awesome. Lots of books to read, comfortable furniture and a cute patio area with extensive plantings of huge trees in pots and all kinds of smaller pots overflowing with vegetation. I read “The Danger” by Dick Francis, on of my favorite British writers, clipped some of her succulents for my garden back home, and did a lot of walking around town… Hey, I didn’t get sick this time with the yellow mucus etc.
Friday, May 10, 2024: Fitzy brought home a freshly prepared fish dinner with cauliflower, carrots, and fries. So delicious. The restaurant owner said he just got in fresh fish, So there you have it, instead of cooking, we had the best fresh meal!
Saturday, May 11, 2024: Lazy relaxing day at the rental. We did some wash and hug the clothes in the line in the back to dry. Otherwise hung out and read.
Sunday, May 12, 2024: We slept late… Emma(daughter) called to wish me a happy mother’s day, so nice, I didn’t know. Noah(son) and Carla called to also wish me a happy mother’s day. We ate dinner at “come Na Gaveta” again, it’s such a cool place. I has steak this time and Fitzy had a tuna steak. Yum!
Monday, May 13,2024: I got us sushi for dinner tonight and surprised Fitz. He wasn’t feeling good, so he went to bed early, while I watched “Spectre” the James Bond movie again, as I love the Mexico City Day of the Dead scenes. Earlier, I waked around town alone and discovered another park/garden, met a writer , Alfred Rudy Forest, who lived in Miami and Barcelona. We had a nice talk, took his picture to maybe read his book.
Wednesday, May 15, 2024: Fitz and I both finished books. Noah(son), Carla, Emma(daughter) and Claude are all going to Bermuda together for a week. Good for them to try to remain close, Emma made all the arrangements. ..Fitz surprised me for a late lunch at a secret hidden garden restaurant that was an outside total nature experience. We had red wine, he had salmon with vegetables, and I had chicken piri-piri with zucchini and brown beans and French fries. The place was romantic and pleasant, We walked quite a long way to get there and back, but it was so worth it.! The owners said “you should really see it at night when it’s all lit up”.
