June 12,2024: Picked up our white rental car at Budva, Montenegro, and rode along the coast to our next place to stay in Sutomore, a small beach town. We experienced a stunning view of the Adriatic Sea, the countryside and the mountains. I took a lot of pix and posted online. Very peaceful place. The B&B was named “Holiday Home Panorama”, the owner, Ivan, lives in the house above the rental, (didn’t know when we booked). He has olive trees, peppers, onions, tomatoes, roses, and grape vines that surround the arbors. Various sitting areas in the yard and garden, all scenic spots dotted around the place. We have the place for 1 month (825 Euros) The view is to die for.
June 13, 2024: Traveling in Montenegro, I kept thinking of the James Bond movie showing Montenegro. Today we had to register at the tourist office to pay the Montenegro tax, except we need the owners name & address etc, which we didn’t have. We will have to come back tomorrow, (also alert Ivan.) otherwise we’re penalized and will have to pay more. They were understanding and exempted us the fee if we come tomorrow. Meanwhile, I took pix of this cool bakery called “La Parisienne” which had delightful cakes, cup cakes, petite fours etc.
June 14, 2024: Drove by some pretty nice beaches, so we got out for drinks at a waterside bar. Drove by the biggest mosque I’ve ever seen with 4 solid gold domes. Then, for my birthday, Fitz brought me to an art supply store in Budva where I proceeded to purchase 151 Euros of watercolors, brushes, paper etc. from a really exclusive store.
June 15, 2024: Today’s my birthday. Happy Birthday to me! I couldn’t wait to paint. I painted a small area around Ivan’s place, as he has lots of flowers, plants, trees and hardscape that looked amazing. Painting with watercolors all came back to me. So I even posted my paintings on Facebook. Jane commented that she really liked my work. Later, Fitz took me out to dinner at this cool “Restoran Pristan” in Coast Iva Novakovica. I had sea bass with grilled veggies and Fitz had pasta, salmon and broccoli. Very good meal and it was overlooking the water.
June 16 – 17, 2024: I did another watercolor of a spot around here. We ate pasta for dinner at our place and hung out.
June 18, 2024: Today is Beach Day, we went to the beach in Sutomore, Montenegro. It was so hot that we both went in the very cold water to cool off, a lot of others were also swimming. It was so refreshing, as the days are getting hotter. Ali said she heard from someone the beaches here are all dirty and full of cigarette butts. I hate to tell her around our beach chairs and umbrella there were several butts. I was disgusted.
