June 8, 2024: Fitzy was delighted he found a Mexican restaurant. I had 3 pork tacos, & he had a veggie chimichanga thing. I had a mojito and he had a Mexican labeled beer.
We took the Gloria Funicular to the Gloria Viewpoint (mirador) but when we got there found a festivus in full swing. Got some drinks from one of about 20 food and drink vendors and sat down at the end of one of the long community tables with some other folks, we got talking and ended up meeting quite a few interesting people as we sat and enjoyed the party. There was continuous music; some canned, some DJ’ed and some Live. I drank a pina colada from a huge pineapple 🍍, delicious and Fitz had a bunch of beers. He always orders small ones so they don’t have time to get warm.
Met Julian and Katarina who were adorable from California, and at the same table we met Armando.
We also met some bachelorette parties and both bride and groom wore funny costumes. Even the food vendors wore silly hats.
Also met two young married couples, who both were from Brazil, but came to work for a company in Portugal. They were in the IT business, and there is quite a demand for that kind of work in Portugal. They were really the cutest to talk to. They were.. Rodrigo and Cadrina, and Bruno and Milena.
A little later Frank and Shari from Philadelphia sat down and we chatted with them.
Met Lu and Neo, They were on vacation from New York but are actually from Brazil, he’s a carpenter and she has a cleaning business and owns an AirBnB back in Brazil. They were also fun to chat with.
